Victorian House Decorating Ideas
Victorian house decorating – Lavender, yellow, pink and light blues could be found on every block, and were often paired in twos or threes, giving the outside appearance of the dolls. The White House was also present, but less common, and often featured dark wood trim.
Floors and walls
Victorian house decorating colors were very different from the exterior colors. Walls often featured prominently wood and plaster casting, with the usual white walls. Intricately patterned wallpaper in colors like gold and tan were also popular. Most Victorian house decorating had little or no carpets. Wooden floors were common and large Oriental rugs in deep, rich tones used instead of permanent mats because they were easier to clean.
