Prairie style house – Homes built in the prairie style spicy Midwest. Wright is determined that it is an affordable suburban homes for the man who spends his days working in the city. After a series of articles he wrote for “Ladies Home Journal” in 1,901th Each article in the series featured a different home designs and also price list. These articles brought more widespread popularity to the prairie style. Then, other architects built prairie-style home for their customers, including Percy Dwight Bentley, Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Lucy Mahony.
Wright had many wealthy and famous clients. Other customers who otherwise would have been ordinary, middle-class Americans became famous because of their Wright-built prairie style house. Robert M. Lamp house, built in 1904, overlooks lakes in Madison, Wisconsin. Then GC Stockman house, built in 1908, is locate in Mason City, Iowa. The Mrs. Fallingwater, located in southwestern Pennsylvania, is one of Wright’s most famous homes.

Oak Park, Illinois, has one of the largest suburban collections of prairie style house. A suburb of Chicago, Oak Park has several blocks of prairie home. Wright lived in Oak Park during the time he was designing homes in this style. His home is open to the public, but many prairie home in Oak Park, remain proprietary. The cozy suburb is a great place to take a stroll in the prairie architecture.
