Draw the contours on checked paper to create a template. Do this only if you plan to decorate your floor with a patterned design. Once you have drawn the contours on checked paper, sketch the pine tongue and groove porch flooring design or pattern on the paper. Translate directly to the floor and cut or paint it to the right size. Be extremely careful when doing this as the best product comes from careful measurement, patience and detail.
Select as many shades of color as you want to paint your pine tongue and groove porch flooring. Painted boards are easy to clean and paint, so you do not have to restrict yourself to just one color. Place masking or painting tape around the boards so the color does not touch the bottom of the wall. Begin in a corner of the room at the far end of the door, so that you get backed yourself out of space. Try different color patterns, from retro striping with light blue, beige and mandarin; or try a simple two-color chess effect to give the feeling of tiles. Or try an antique look and brush the brush easily over the wood so the color is obvious but does not completely cover the dark forest. Paint on wood can dry overnight to require a couple of nights, depending on how thick you make paint.
